Data Transparency

Your data.
Your control.

Starpolar is built so your private life stays yours. Here is exactly where everything goes — plain language, no surprises.

Local by default

On your device

Core app content is stored encrypted on your device. Data is only processed elsewhere when a feature you actively use needs it, such as account services, sync, the assistant, or an external search.

Planning & tasks Workouts Nutrition Finance Health logs
Encrypted on your device. Optional services process only what they need.
Optional · off by default

When you sync

FileSync is off by default. When enabled, data travels over encrypted HTTPS and is stored encrypted in Firebase Firestore. If you enable optional end-to-end encryption, protected Filesync content can only be decrypted by approved devices. You can disable sync or delete Filesync cloud data from within the app.

You decide when to sync. You can delete everything at any time.
Request + limited context

With the assistant

After you enable the AI Assistant, your text or voice transcript and compact context needed for that request are sent through Starpolar's Assistant backend to Mistral AI. Deliberately attached images or documents are included only for that request. For spoken replies, Cartesia receives the generated answer, the German or English reply language currently selected by Starpolar, and your selected voice. Your full app database and unrelated local files are not included. Provider retention depends on Starpolar's applicable plans and account configurations.

Your request and relevant context are processed. Your full database is not.

What we never do with your data

We do not sell your personal data or use it for advertising or cross-service profiling. Data is shared only with processors or services needed to provide a feature you use, as explained in the Privacy Policy.

  • Selling your personal data or sharing it for advertising
  • Advertising or profiling based on your finance, health, or nutrition data
  • Training AI models on your full app database
  • Cross-site or cross-app tracking
  • Collecting your location outside an active cardio training session
  • Sharing your training or nutrition history with ad networks

Usage analytics & diagnostics Voluntary opt-in

About usage analytics & diagnostics: Google Firebase Analytics, Crashlytics, and Performance Monitoring remain disabled until you actively opt in. After consent, pseudonymous screen and feature events, onboarding steps and duration, purchase and trial status without purchase identifiers or financial amounts, app and OS version, device model, performance metrics, affected code location, and stack trace may be processed. Starpolar does not send app content, entries, names, email addresses, account identifiers, or financial amounts as custom events. Events generated before consent are not stored or replayed later. You can withdraw consent anytime in app Settings; new transmission then stops immediately.

You are in control.

Sensitive permissions and optional services stay under your control. You decide which features and connections you enable.

  • Sync is off by default. You turn it on.
  • Delete all sync data from within the app at any time.
  • Crash reporting only if you opt in. Opt out again anytime in settings.
  • Location only when you start the Cardio Tracker.
  • Request account deletion; limited records may remain where the law requires it.
  • Starpolar does not use your app data for advertising, tracking, or sale.
